Overview

Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) is an incorporated body that provides public hospital services aligned with the principles of the Australian Health Care Agreement (Medicare) and the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic). LRH employs approximately 1,380 full-time equivalent staff and is administered by its head office in Traralgon West, Victoria.

Latrobe Regional Hospital is a fully integrated public health organisation. It is also a teaching hospital affiliated with the Monash University School of Rural Health, which is located on the Hospital's main campus in Traralgon.

LRH divides its main operations into three areas:

  • Hospital-Based Services - Includes surgical, medical, cancer care, maternity & family care, emergency, and clinical support.
  • Sub-Acute Services - Includes allied health, hospital in the home (HITH), health independence programs, and Gippsland regional palliative care consultancy service.
  • Mental Health Services - Includes acute and bed-based care, community services, specialist programs, and a mental health professional development unit.
