City of Canterbury Bankstown is the local government body responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction for the Canterbury and Bankstown regions, following the amalgamation of the Canterbury and Bankstown City Councils on 12th May, 2016. The council employs approximately 1,170 full-time equivalent staff, supports an estimated local population of approximately 361,550 people, and is administered from its head office in Bankstown, New South Wales.

The City of Canterbury Bankstown administers an area comprised of 41 suburbs spread across approximately 110 square km, located in the south-west of Sydney.
