Return To Work Corporation of South Australia is an employer-funded statutory authority that provides protection to South Australian workers and employers in the event of workplace injury. The authority is constituted under the Return to Work Act 2014 with a board appointed by the Governor of South Australia on the recommendation of the responsible minister. WorkCover SA employs 265 people and is administered from its head office in Adelaide, South Australia.

Return To Work Corporation of South Australia's aim is to rehabilitate and compensate injured workers due to workplace injury, and return them into a safer workplace and community. Return To Work SA regulates the South Australian Return to Work scheme that provides protection to workers and employers in the event of workplace injury.

Depending on the severity of the injury, a worker can be entitled to:

  • Weekly payments of income maintenance
  • Medical and associated costs related to the injury or illness
  • Lump sum compensation for non-economic loss (permanent impairment)
